We’re thrilled to announce the release of Slurm-web v4.2.0, the latest version of the reference open source web interface for Slurm workload manager. This release brings several significant new features aimed at improving security, versatility, and usability — making it easier than ever to keep an eye on your cluster.
Slurm is the world leading workload manager for HPC clusters with all most advanced features to manage jobs and resources efficiently with a powerful command-line interface (CLI).
Slurm-web provides a clear graphical user interface with views to track your jobs, intuitive insights and advanced visualizations on top of Slurm to monitor status of HPC supercomputers in your organization, in a web browser on all your devices.

What’s New?
Here are the key enhancements in this version:
- JWT Authentication with slurmrestd: Slurm-web now supports JSON Web Token
(JWT) authentication with slurmrestd. Two token management modes are
available:
- auto: Short-lived tokens are automatically generated by Slurm-web with Slurm signature key.
- static: A pre-generated token can be supplied in configuration.
- TCP/IP Socket Access to slurmrestd: In addition to Unix sockets, you can now connect to slurmrestd over TCP/IP — enabling easier deployments across distributed systems or containerized environments.
- Sort Jobs by Requested Resources: The job list view can now be sorted by the quantity of requested resources (CPUs, memory, etc.), giving you a quick overview of the most demanding jobs in your queue.
- Better Responsive Layout with Jobs Priority: We’ve improved the responsive design of the job list, especially on smaller screens. Job priority is now displayed, making it easier to understand scheduling behavior at a glance.
- Optimized Cluster View: Rack and row labels in the cluster’s graphical representation are now disabled by default, helping to declutter the view and save screen space — particularly useful for large-scale clusters.
Many other improvements are also included: enhanced error handling, updated dependencies for better performance and security, bug fixes and various UI tweaks based on community feedback. Check out the release notes for more detailed information on what’s new.
We encourage you to upgrade to Slurm-web 4.2.0 and take full advantage of these new changes. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions to help us continue improving the project.
